Previous Tour

In March and April of 2004, Mark went to Hawaii and Alaska and returned to Massachusetts. Over six weeks, he shared his stories and songs at museums, elementary schools, high schools, and colleges; under a federally funded education grant.

He represented the New Bedford Whaling Museum in an amazing collaborative effort by museums in three states. He with other storytellers and singers performed for hundreds of youngsters.

The federal grant that underwrote the effort is called The Education through Cultural and Historical Organizations (known informally as ECHO). It was a magical journey, an opportunity to share the whaling stories of New England with those who have a cultural link to the whalemen of years ago.

The trip centered around the Native American stories that we should all share. Mark brought history to music and got everyone singing.
